Hoof 1N - Navicular - Steel or Copper Effect

This polyurethane slice is a cast from a real horse foot with navicular disease.  There are adhesions between the flexor surface of the navicular bone where is should glide against the deep digital flexor tendon.  Adhesions are abnormal growth or scar like tissue.  There is also a cyst in the navicular bone.  

There are 3 different types of slice available; Steel copper or plain.

The steel and copper slices take days to make and I layer thin glazes of paint to get the desired effect, followed by a protection layer of clear acrylic

The ready to paint slices are coated with primer, and you can paint yourself.

The slices are robust but need to be stored away from rasps and knives...
